EMU Elementary School Teacher Education Department Students Attended The IX. National Pre-School Teacher Education Congress

The ninth of the National Pre-School Education Congress that is organized annually by the Pre-School Teacher Education Departments of the Education Faculties in Turkey was held at the Education Faculty of the Başkent University. Various conferences and workshop have been held by field experts during the two-day IX. National Pre-School Education Student Congress; 45 verbal and 16 posters, a total of 61 reports prepared by students currently studying in the pre-school teacher education programmes of the universities were presented and discussed.

The projects prepared by last year students from the EMU Pre-School Teacher Education, Elementary School Education Department, Education Faculty and who took the Research Project I-II courses under the responsibility of Prof. Dr. Ayşe Işıl Gürşimşek also took place at the congress. The projects include: "Investigating the Attitudes of Parents with 5-6 year-old Children towards Environment Cleaning and Nature" by Elif Apapbak and Hale Sert; "Perceptions of Prospective Pre-School Education Teachers Regarding the Sexual Problems They Face in Children and Their Views on The Necessity of Sexual Education" by Seher İşler; and "Investigating the Level of Knowledge of Prospective Teachers on the Features of Children's Books" by Hediye Kaya, Gizem Kaya and Gülmerve Maluk.

Three more projects were also sent to the congress and have been accepted as "verbal report". The studies carried out by students from EMU were considered as successful at the congress and their presentations received positive criticism. Students increased their knowledge and experience by attending workshops as well as networking with teachers and students from other universities.
