EMU English Language Teaching Department Received AQAS Accreditation

Eastern Mediterranean University Education Faculty English Language Teaching Department was accredited by AQAS (Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation of Study Programs), one of the leading accreditation institutions of Germany. Established in 1995 under Faculty of Arts and Sciences, English Language Teaching Department became the founding department of Education Faculty in 2000 and has been bringing up qualified English teachers through its undergraduate, thesis and non-thesis postgraduate and doctoral degree programs. 

EMU English Language Teaching Department chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülşen Musayeva Vefalı stated that during the AQAS accreditation process, department's academic staff, graduates, current students, curriculum, student learning outcomes, course content, methodology and techniques, student course load forms (ECTS), various academic meeting minutes, strategical plans, educational facilities, laboratories and library services underwent detailed evaluation. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülşen Musayeva Vefalı also put forth that academic staff, research assistants and administrative staff members tried their best efforts for the success of the accreditation process.

AQAS is a quality assurance institution accrediting departments providing teacher education in European Union universities. EMU English Language Teaching department graduates will benefit from the opportunity of working or studying at EU countries, thanks to AQAS accreditation gained by the department.
